Dr. Colette is a passionate servant of God and a dedicated teacher of the Word, currently serving as the Co-Pastor of Newness of Life Ministries. Appointed in April 2021, she leads the congregation with a heart for spiritual growth and community outreach, striving to foster a welcoming environment where individuals can deepen their faith and strengthen their relationship with God.

With over 30 years of ministry experience, Dr. Colette has held various leadership roles across multiple ministries. She is particularly committed to youth ministry, having served for 17 years as a youth leader, and has taken on significant responsibilities as the National YPUW Scholarship Chair, National Youth Secretary, and local youth president for the Glorious Church of God in Christ. Her dedication to training and mentoring extends beyond the church, as she currently serves as the Provost of the East Coast Campus of Empowerment Theological Institute & Bible Seminary (ETIBS). In this role, she focuses on academic leadership and program development while equipping Armor bearers and church administrators for effective ministry.

Dr. Colette is also an intercessor, devoted to spiritual warfare and deliverance ministry, and has been blessed to share her insights at numerous conferences and events. Her declaration, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord” (Psalms 118:17), reflects her unwavering faith and commitment to spreading God's message.

In her personal life, Dr. Colette is married to Reverend Rodney A. Brown, Sr., and they have celebrated over 36 years of marriage. Together, they are proud parents of three young adults: Rod'slyn Alise, Bridgette Simone, and Rodney Alpheus Jr. (married to Zoe Brown), as well as grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren: twins Rodney III and Hannah Victoria, Logan, Jermani, and their newest granddaughters, Carter Noelle and Aria Elizabeth.

Dr. Colette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Saint Paul's College, a Master’s in Theology in Church Leadership from Liberty University, and two Doctoral degrees in Divinity and Leadership Ethics and Administration from The Empowerment Theological Institute & Bible Seminary. Additionally, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

Professionally, Dr. Colette worked for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice for many years as a Program Manager, where she played a crucial role in regulating and monitoring criminal justice agencies. She retired in 2008, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and commitment to public service.

Currently, she serves as the CEO of Reaching Beyond the Walls RVA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding families, empowering women, providing scholarships, mentoring leaders, and serving communities in need. Dr. Colette’s life mission is to bring help and hope wherever they are needed most, embodying her unwavering commitment to faith and service.
